💡 Quick Reference Guide

🔹 When to use WILL:

✓ Real future possibilities

✓ Things that can really happen

✓ First Conditional only

🔹 When to use WOULD:

✓ Imaginary situations (present/future)

✓ Unlikely events

✓ Second Conditional

🔹 When to use WOULD HAVE:

✓ Past regrets

✓ Things that didn't happen

✓ Third Conditional

🔑 Key Tips:

  • • NEVER use "will" in the IF clause (❌ If I will go... ✅ If I go...)
  • • Use "were" for all persons in Second Conditional (If I/he/she were...)
  • • "Unless" = "if not" (I'll go unless it rains = I'll go if it doesn't rain)
  • • Can use modals: might, could, should instead of will/would
